Kristinestad Tourism Association awarded Lebell Merchant House the “Social Media Star of the Year” award at the Kristinestad Entrepreneur Gala on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
The award was presented by the Chairman of the Tourism Association, Kristiina Itälaakso, who stated the following in her speech:
‘We entrepreneurs are finding ourselves in a situation where marketing through traditional media is no longer as effective as it once was. Instead, we now have better and more cost-effective opportunities to reach our target audience through social media.
However, to succeed in this, we need to produce content that is both high-quality and engaging. For this reason, the Tourism Association wants to reward Lebell Merchant House and social media expert Harri Alatalo for elevating Lebell’s profile and increasing its visibility.’
The award was received by Helena Patoranta, Chair of the Lebell Merchant House Foundation, and the wizard himself, Harri.
Helena: ‘When I was chosen as the Chair of the Lebell Merchant House Foundation and realized what had happened, I swallowed twice. There is so much to do, constantly. When will I have time to focus on producing social media content that is well done and not rushed?
At the same time, we were included in Ahlström In Society‘s newly relaunched website, which is read around the world. That’s when I swallowed twice again – how will I manage all of this?
The answer came closer than I had imagined when Harri contacted me and said, “I could be your press officer / social media manager.”
It was a relief because I had already worked with Harri through Visit Kristinestad, so I knew that Harri’s social media content would definitely be of high quality.
The only thing I was a little concerned about was how Harri would manage all of this, with so much going on all the time. But that wasn’t a problem – Harri is always one step ahead.
So big thanks to Harri for the great work!
Harri, on his behalf, said the following:
‘When I moved back to Kristinestad in 2018, I completely rediscovered the city. The historical, almost unchanged environment became a source of a new, better quality of life for me. For this reason, I soon realized that this is something I want to share with others, too. So, I started by creating social media content for my own Hotel Krepelin, then I did the same for VisitKristinestad for three years, and now for Lebell for a year.
This so-called “social media work” is really easy in Kristinestad because we have such a beautiful city, and one of its “crown jewels” is definitely Lebell. So, when you point the camera anywhere in Kristinestad, and especially at Lebell, you almost can’t fail, because it’s so beautiful and unique.
Let us all continue making noise about Kristinestad together!’
